Stainless Steel is the most common material used for fittings used in feed through assemblies. This material has a low porosity factor, thereby, with proper baking, residual volatile contaminants and water vapor are driven out of the material. Teflon or Kapton insulated wire, epoxy seal and a high vacuum lubricant combine to insure feed through assemblies suitable for clean room, and pharmaceutical applications.
