Thermometrics Corporation manufactures Type K, Inconel sheathed, mineral insulated thermocouples. The insulating material is magnesia (MGO.) The magnesia is electrically fused with a 99.4 percent minimum content of magnesia and with a maximum content of boron plus cadium of 30 ppm. The sulphur content is less than 50 ppm and the carbon content less than 300 ppm. This material meets the requirements of ASTM STP Manual on the Use of Thermocouples in Temperature Measurement, and ASTM 585, for sheathed, compacted, insulated thermocouples. |
